Tiny + SMART Blogging – the Feynman Technique

Summary: With the help of the Feynman Technique I am going to make my blog posts leaner and more enlightening.

The problem I face today is that I still don’t feel comfortable hitting “publish” on my blog posts. What is holding me back?
The posts I’ve written so far don’t read as “polished”, “complete” or “fun to read”. Is there anything of value here?

One solution I’ve hit on is The Feynman Technique

While researching solutions to my problem I came across the Feynman Technique. This is a studying tactic, but I am hoping it can also help me complete my blogs in a concise and easy-to-read way. The gist is that in order to deeply comprehend something, you must understand it and be able to explain it to a 12-year-old.

To use this technique for blogging, I’m going to pick a topic, research it, write down what I understand about it, then re-write it as if I’m teaching that topic to a 6th-grader. The process of re-writing for the purposes of teaching another person will reveal any gaps or omissions. Then I re-write to fill those gaps, while still making everything comprehensible to my audience.
